ORGAN FRUITS

Projection Mapping, Sound and Bio-sculpture Installation

Victoria Pham

ORGAN FRUITS has been an ongoing research and artistic project that has been developing since 2019. Pham began scaffolds for the work with models in ceramic (images provided below) before expanding the research aims of the project into synthetic biology -  in particular the pursuit of experimenting with and developing mycelium materials for sustainable design, sonic acoustic properties and expanding into architecture. Each sculptural component is designed to be in the form of an organ, with each vessel conducting sound and hanging from the ceiling as if suspended on a phantom tree.

ORGAN FRUITS seeks to create an immersive experience, asking of the audience, what does it mean to listen deeply to earth and environment? And what does it mean to listen materially?

The project was support across 2020 and 2021 as Pham was an artist in resident with Metal Culture UK, and the Centre for Projection Art (Australia). A published reflection of her residency experience can be read below.
