LISTENING GARDEN (2023 - )

Listening Garden I is a series of living installations: these works combine decaying or dead objects with the living, and the real with the digital, showcasing an imaginative world that interplays between artefact and life. These works span small-scale living sculptures through to proof of concepts for large-scale installations through to garden design for public and civic spaces.

These works showcase the development of Pham's mycelium work as part of her studio-lab, Earthly Futures.

Frozen Fungi (2023)

FROZEN FUNGI marks the first public presentation of Pham's mycelial sculptures - 41 one of them in fact! Developed over the past 3 years in the artist's studio, this installation of suspended mycelium objects is presented alongside a soundscape, evoking a sense of being underground and listening to these "frozen synthetic-biology objects" in a fantasy landscape and sound-scape.

RE:SOUNDING (2018 - )

RE:SOUNDING is a multi-faceted research and artistic intervention into museum-display-practices, conservation and decolonisation lead by James Nguyen and Victoria Pham. This project has spanned multiple iterations, conferences, publications, commissions and performances. TERRA: Memory + Soil (2022)

A bio-sculpture, projection mapping and sound installation project. TERRA: Memory and Soil interrogated colonial land management practices and encouraged us to listen deeply to Earth and Country. This was produced in collaboration with architect Joel Spring. TERRA was co-commissioned by West Space Gallery, Liquid Architecture and the Centre for Projection Art.

AN UPRISING OF DREAMS (2023)

An immersive art intervention of sound healing, projection art, guided meditation, and collective rest led by Nap Bishop, Tricia Hersey.‘The body is a site of liberation’ is the second tenet of the Rest is Resistance framework, and the inspiration for An Uprising of Dreams. Victoria, in collaboration with the Centre for Projection Art, produced the projection images and films as well as the installation's 2.5hr soundscape design.

Immersed in sound, moving image, and guided meditation, Tricia Hersey invites us into the ‘Dream Space’ stolen by grind culture’s constant need for labour. The experience proves that rest is not a luxury, but a human right and a deliberate rebuking of the oppressive structures that are snatching our humanity. As part of NOW or NEVER Festival.
