SPRING-WATCHING PAVILLION

January 16 - February 24. 2025.
@ TCB Gallery, Melbourne
In an exhibition with TCB Gallery, Pham will present a new sound and drawing installation. The work reflects on matrilineal memory through a life-sized reconstruction of Pham's grandmother's tea room from the early 20th century in Ha Noi. There are no photographs that exist of the room, with Pham interviewing the female members of her family and acquiring descriptions, as well as conducting research in her family archive to reconstruct the room on paper through drawn impressions - inspired by rubbings and technical illustrations. The sounds of Ha Noi are the basis for the soundscape for the work.

This show also includes a projection of her video-work from 2023 'Spring-Watching Pavillion'
roots run wild on threads of memory

March 6 - April 19. 2025.
@ 15 Beautreillis, Paris
Victoria Pham's exhibition "roots run wild on threads of memory," running from March 6 to April 19, 2025, at 15 Beautreillis in Paris, presents a multifaceted exploration of personal and familial narratives intertwined with cultural heritage. Integrating her diverse expertise as an artist, evolutionary biologist, archaeologist, composer, writer, and materials designer, Pham crafts immersive installations that delve into themes of decomposition and regeneration as acts of resilience. The centerpiece is a large-scale immersive installation featuring an extended white silk Áo Dài amidst a garden of smuggled Vietnamese culinary and medicinal herbs, enriched by projection-mapped video and a two-channel soundscape. Additional works include a silk painting reconstructed from five Áo Dài, hand-embroidered with 18th-century erotic and feminist poetry by Hồ Xuân HÆ°Æ¡ng, and assemblages of futuristic-archeological objects, such as cast mycelium mooncakes presented in antique brass and wood jewelry boxes. Collectively, these pieces reflect on the complexities of memory, identity, and cultural reclamation in the post-colonial context.
SMUGGLED HERBS – GROWING, NOURISHING AND TASTING VIETNAMESE HERBS.

19h00-21h00
April 3, 2025.
@ 15 Beautreillis, Paris
Join artist Victoria Pham for a sensory exploration of history, culture, and nourishment in this special public program as part of roots run wild on threads of memory, her solo exhibition at Art Paris 2025. Over two immersive hours, Pham will guide participants through the rich cultural and culinary histories of the four Vietnamese herbs that form the living heart of her eponymous listening garden installation (downstairs). With both medicinal and culinary significance, these herbs will be tasted individually before coming together in a hands-on workshop where we will craft fresh, vegan summer rolls. To root this experience even further, Pham will lead a planting session focused on coriander, offering each participant a seedling to take home and nurture. Come contemplate the deep intertwining of smuggled plants, memory, and sustenance in this early spring gathering.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies. This event will be vegan and led in English.

Alarcón’s ‘Invocation’, will transport you to a world of passion and rhythm with a Spanish-themed composition brimming with vibrant melodies and evocative rhythms. From there, listeners will enjoy the lyrical beauty of Gillingham’s Euphonium Concerto, a piece that showcases the euphonium’s warm and expressive tones. The evening continues with Pham’s ‘A Meeting of Cars and Aeroplanes’, a work that captures the dynamic energy of both the automobile and the aircraft in an exhilarating musical experience.
To conclude our concert, we will present Symphony No. V, Elements, by Giroux, a magnificent love poem to Mother Nature herself. This symphony’s majestic and evocative score will sweep you away on a journey through the forces of nature, a fitting and grand finale to our evening."
